我が家から歩いて３分ほどのところに毎年ミズバショウが咲きます。

住宅のすぐ脇です。今年も甘い香りを漂わせています。

White skunk cabbage grows in the swampy,

wet areas of the forest lands or the mountains in Japan.

It sprouts early in Spring. Some Japanese go seeing it there and feel Spring.

But I see it by the road of my residential area almost every day

when taking a walk with my dog.　 Wow, it means

that I live in the forest or in the mountain.

Exactly I do.

There’s purple skunk cabbage and

it literally gives off a smell of skunk, very stinky

but white one isn’t, rather smells sweet like perfume.　 I like it.
